Postnatal Treatment

(Prasava Raksha Vethukuli) Embark on the journey of motherhood with our caring and personalized postnatal treatments, overseen by our experienced doctor, Dr. Vidya, at  Ayur Heritage. Our skilled practitioners, led by Dr. Vidya, are dedicated to supporting you in rejuvenating both your body and spirit, ensuring a gentle transition into the beautiful phase of motherhood.
Postnatal care, guided by the expertise of Dr. Vidya, is a crucial step in ensuring the well-being of both the mother and the newborn. It plays a significant role in revitalizing the mother’s overall health, with a strong emphasis on equal attention and care both before and after childbirth.
After giving birth, the mother's health can become delicate due to the loss of body fluids and blood, along with the physical changes that occur after delivering the baby. This phase, often referred to as the “Suthika period” according to Ayurveda, extends from 45 to 90 days after delivery or until the start of the next menstrual cycle.
Under the guidance of Dr. Vidya at Ayur Heritage, our postnatal care focuses on restoring the new mother's physical and mental well-being, which may have been depleted during pregnancy and childbirth. The goal is to prepare her to care for both herself and her newborn. This comprehensive care includes ensuring proper lactation, aiding the uterus in returning to its pre-pregnancy state, and preventing physical and mental stress for the mother. The holistic approach aims to support the mother in this transformative phase of her life.

Objectives of Dr. Vidya's Ayurvedic Postnatal Care:

  1. Restore Digestive and Metabolic Balance: The primary aim is to bring the body back to its optimal digestive and metabolic state, promoting overall well-being.
  2. Normalize Physiological Functions: The focus is on normalizing physiological functions, specifically targeting the strengthening of lax muscles and ligaments, ensuring a healthy recovery.
  3. Enhance Breast Milk Quantity and Quality: The commitment is to support and enhance the production of good-quality breast milk, providing essential nourishment for both the mother and the newborn.
  4. Tailored Diet and Lifestyle Recommendations: Personalized guidance on diet and lifestyle choices is provided, aligning with the unique needs of the mother during this postnatal period, promoting a harmonious and balanced transition to motherhood.
Our approach, guided by Dr. Vidya's expertise at Ayur Heritage, combines traditional wisdom with modern understanding to ensure a standard and nurturing postnatal care experience.

BABY MASSAGE AND BATH

A warm oil massage after the umbilical cord falls off is one of the best things you can do for your Baby. It starts at the head and end at the feet. Also include baby exercises like cycling the legs and flexing the leg against the belly, etc. this helps their digestive tract and overall tone and flexibility. Follow the massage with a warm bath. When dressing the baby, will place a few rasnadi choornam on the head over the soft spot to protect the brain and the very sensitive marma points located here. Doing this in the morning as a good start to the day.
